Sympathetic to tradition yet

audaciously modern

The brief was to create a unique family home which reinforces the remaining historic qualities of the building, whilst being boldly modern where appropriate.

The contemporary design of the new two storey rear section of the three bedroom house is creative and confident yet also sensitive to the property’s location in a conservation area.

The main end elevation uses London stock brick and features large modern glazing. The Victorian use of ceramics is referenced in the striking geometric green tiled façade of the side return which also features a zinc roof.

A large kitchen and dining area was created in the rear of the house, giving a great sense of light and space.

This continues with the use of a dramatic glazed pivot door which opens out to the re-landscaped garden.

Upstairs the house was remodelled creating a new master bedroom suite with en-suite, a large family bathroom and a flexible spare bedroom/fitness room.

Working in close consultation with our clients ensured that the space entirely met their needs
